Amy Gear graduated with an MA in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art. She lives and works in Shetland.
Amy's practice explores possible (and impossible) interrelationships between land and the body, knotting together notions of identity, language, knowledge and imagination.
Amy works across a broad range of media: performance, printmaking, painting, photography, drawing, digital film, sound, poetry and installation
I work on collaborative public projects with community groups. In the past I have led projects for Shetland Arts and Luminate Festival. This work is an extension of my art practice. For more images and info on these, click here.
I am the founder and co-director of artist led initiative Gaada Projects. We are a community interest company who create meaningful creative projects within the Shetland community. For more info visit our website.
